Everything gets a little bit better with this repeat champion of DSLRs — Nikon just announced the D810 (specs) with a redesigned mirror mechanism and electronic first curtain shutter option to reduce the risk of “shutter shake” reducing resolution. Also, Nikon drops the optical low pass filter for improved resolution and dynamic range. Meaning, there won’t be any D800E version. D810, that’s it.
The new processor works 30% faster, you get a better LCD and one stop better ISO on each side with optimum range from ISO 64 to 12,800. Also, you get the Group Area focus of the D4S and small RAW files of half the size. Nice! RAW files are no longer way too big.
