You can agree and you can disagree with liberals and conservatives alike. For heaven’s sake, just start thinking for yourself again! Doesn’t mean something they say must be real. Doesn’t mean it can be fake either. Just ask yourself: is it relevant? Does it matter? Why they say it? And most importantly: does it make sense?
These so-called right-wing nationalists, are they these demons? The Democrats, our true saviors? Take Steve Bannon. Bright mind, yet too much for many. Kind of reminds me of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov, maybe the most important literature ever written:
Christ comes back to earth in Seville at the time of the Inquisition. He performs a number of miracles. The people recognize him and adore him, but he is arrested by inquisition leaders and sentenced to be burnt to death the next day. The grand inquisitor visits him in his cell to tell him that the church no longer needs him.
Not saying Steve Bannon is a modern-day Christ. But saying we have to be able to hear and listen again with an open mind and heart. Someone can be right and wrong at the same time. There is no right and there is no wrong, only the concept of it.
Is Bannon, the much hated Rasputinian Trump whisperer, an evil genius? Can’t deny he’s a highly intelligent person. In one talk he wondered why 20th-century tyrants like Hitler and Stalin couldn’t bring down the U.S. But with the financial crisis in 2008, the collapse of Lehmann Brothers nearly did. Imagine. Banks more evil than history’s most evil persons.
Bannon, and his boss Trump, they’re not the problem. They’re the symptoms of a much bigger problem: massively excessive liabilities. The value of real-world assets pales in comparison to the debt our politicians accumulate. And we inherit the mess. The day will come when not one stone will be left upon another.
So don’t mind these politicians and gurus and preachers. Think for yourself, about what matters right here and right now. Sure taxes and health care and corporate governance matter. Hardly as much as the here and the now.
In fact, screw both the left and the right. Did you know that it’s entirely possible to disagree with both liberals and conservatives? It’s called thinking for yourself. Highly recommended.
As in photography. There is no right or wrong. Only the abstract concept of it.
Totally liberating. Promised.
