Olympus Flagship OM-D E-M1 in Silver and New Zuiko 40-150mm F2.8 Pro Lens

Quite a beauty, the Olympus flagship OM-D E-M1 in silver. Available as body only for $1,399 (Amazon / B&H Photo / Adorama / Olympus U.S.) and $1,499 for the new 40-150mm F2.8 Pro lens (Amazon / B&H Photo / Adorama).

That’s a serious price for some seriously fast long-range zoom with constant F2.8 aperture. I’d be all over it if in the market for a sports, wildlife or action combo. The sealed Pro lens doesn’t mind weather, dust, rain, just don’t take it for a scuba dive.

Cute, but I’m happy with my black EM-1. I prefer stealth to flash…

Nice, but not for me, either. The black gaffer tape that I put on my black E-M1 to cover up all the logos and model names would look silly on a silver body.

The $1499 is for the lens only; it’s not for the camera plus lens. If it were that truly would be the most groundbreaking deal in the world.

That aside, the camera is already a winner, and this new color combo looks terrific. The lens will be spectacular optics. All in all, Olympus is turning out some great stuff.

    • Dunno where my head was… thanks Wade!
